Ventspils municipal enterprise "Ventspils Digital Centre" is a public institution of Ventspils City Council the aims of which are:
- to facilitate the involvement of Ventspils city municipality, residents and entrepreneurs in the information society and e-government;
- to work actively in building up the information society and in implementation of e-solutions on local, regional, national and international level;
- to form, to support and to develop the infrastructure of information and communication technologies.

Ventspils Free Port Authority is the executive body responsible for the following functions:
- maintenance of navigation channels;
- navigation safety;
- maintenance of hydro technical facilities;
- collection of port dues;
- control of compliance with port and environmental rules;
- issuing of free zone licenses.

Ventspils Museum is studying and summarizing history of Ventspils city and region, forms chronicle of Ventspils city, complements museums's stocks, organizes museum's scientific work, including archeological and other expeditions, conferences, deals with publicity. |

Ventspils University College |

Ventspils University College (VUC) was established in 1997 with the aim to provide a possibility of preparing a sufficient number of highly skilled specialists for the city of Ventspils and the whole region of Courland.
VUC provides academic and professional education in the following study directions – Economic and Management Studies and Translation Studies. Duration of studies in both study programmes is four academic years or eight terms.
Recently opened program of professional IT studies provides study specialisation opportunities in Data Base Administration and Network Administration.
The academic year 2001/ 2002 came with opening of a new two–year postgraduate study programme – Master of Business Administration and in the academic year 2004/2005, the Master's programme in Translation Studies was opened. |
